Support Covenant College in 2018

Dear supporters
Please see below message from the trustees of Covenant College.
The past year, 2017, has been most encouraging in terms of the new Principal’s success in rebuilding student numbers, developing the syllabus, and also rolling out CEM across Zambia, as the newsletters that have been faithfully distributed indicate.
However, funding has been a significant challenge. Farm income and supplies have fallen markedly. Salary costs for lower paid and casual staff have increased appreciably as we came in line with minimum wage and NAPSA (state pension) regulations. Costs will further increase as the student body grows to circa fifty. Such an increase will affect not only the cost of consumables (food, cleaning materials etc) but also staff and equipment costs.
We are laying before our partner organisations the urgent need for prayer and action in raising further funds, especially regular donations but also one-off gifts to enable the College to meet the demands resulting from the encouraging Increase in student numbers.
The Farm will be a challenge for the foreseeable future. Funding is required for the recruitment of a Farm Ministry Leader as a long term replacement for Phil Bailey / Jackson Kasolo and to rejuvenate the Farming God’s Way ministry.
If we were to find 1000 donors willing to pledge £5 per month for 24 months that would transform our financial position.
Some examples of the running costs of the college ministries are given below:
- Food & other consumables (£500 per month)
- Teaching materials (circa £100 per month)
- Staff: bookkeeper, lecturer, site manager (£1000 per month)
- Furniture (beds etc for increased student body circa £500)
- Internet (high cost satellite link due to remote situation – £200 per month)
- Utilities (mostly electricity, circa £200 per month)
- Farm Ministry Leader (circa £500 per month)
We would thank you for your ongoing support and encouragement, and we kindly ask you to prayerfully consider if you are able to support the college by donating and also by encouraging other believers to join us in prayer and financial support.

We praise our God for all He has done, and is doing, in Zambia and beyond through the work of the college.
