CCZT Newsletter – April 2018

Dear Prayer Partners and Supporters

We bring you hearty greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

It has taken a while since you received a newsletter from us. Time is flying and much more for us. This means that we have enough to share with you. As we look back in the previous weeks, the AGM stands out as a very important event. We are thankful for the commitment of the Trustees who travelled to attend this year’s meeting and put their heads together to make decisions that will help our projects to move forward. Two of the Trustees came some days before the AGM started. That gave them an opportunity to teach our students as well as have good time of fellowship with the staff.

At the College, the students are busy studying their courses and preparing for examinations. They also started a garden project next to their dormitory. Here they can practice to grow their own vegetables. Although it is April, we still are receiving rains! This has also helped us in keeping our surrounding green and beautiful. We have expanded the area where we planted special grass and flowers.

Samba, our administrator, on the other hand, has never had a dull moment. Hers has been the College duty including monitoring the Mukhanyo curriculum and supervising what is going on at the farm, which has made her into a real farmer as by now she knows everything about food for the animals, injections etc. We are very happy with her zeal and commitment!

We will be very happy when we receive a Farm Ministry Leader to take over the responsibilities at our Farm. We shared with you in our October 2017 newsletter that we had received a new Assistant Farm Manager. His performance was disappointing, so we couldn’t offer him a contract. Although we have been facing difficulties at the farm, we are grateful to the Lord by what He has been doing for us, unexpected donations, growing life stock, promising yields from the fields, all these have encouraged us and caused us to count our blessings!

On behalf of CEM we can share the work is continuing. The community schools are winding up their first term. That means a full one month holiday for the children! Not so for the teachers and trainers as we expect them during the holiday for one week at our premises for a teacher’s conference. This is not the first conference for CEM in 2018 because in early March Marjanne was training teachers from Eagle’s Nest School in Lusaka. A few weeks later she conducted lessons for Sunday school teachers in Windhoek Namibia. She was there together with the principal and his wife, who were invited by the Evangelical Bible Church for an Easter Conference. The principal had 7 sessions of preaching and held 3 seminars in the week following the conference. We are at the moment back to ‘normal’ routine and teaching at the College!

As you can see, there is a lot going on in our projects! We are planting seeds for God’s Kingdom and look dependently up to Him for the growth of the planted seeds in the many lives that cross our paths.

We thank the Lord too for the blessing of having you as our partners! Please continue to pray for us and encourage us by being in touch.

Pastor Emmanuel Sakala
Principal
